Double Spread In Depth

And we're back ! Here's my second analysis of another component of my magazine. So here we have the double spread layout. The double spread is usually used to execute the correct amount of spacing and a rough draft of what the pages of the magazine are supposed to look like. Even though I mentioned in the initial blog that I believed this was easy, I realize I have some flaws, that truthfully I'm not too embarrassed to bring up. So for one my first error was my page numbers ! I was so in love with the color diversity I forgot to add the page numbers in which I need to correct. I feel like I could add a little bit more diversity to this double layout but I'm proud of myself for the first time execution.

For the graphic (picture) I took this picture of a peer with my canon camera at one of his local football games. Tylor, who, like me, is a senior student athlete was my perfect example for this magazine so I just happened to sneak in on a Thursday afternoon game . I didn't want to add to much text on the left side to take away from his picture so I left some spacing with designs on the side for a bit of an accent.

On the top we have the topic. The topic grammatically isn't correct but that's for humorous eye catching purposes to make them want to become interested in what's being talked about. It's going to mainly be about the troubles that senior student athletes have when it comes to practices, games and doing just everyday homework, and what tips/advice they would like to give to anyone who struggles with these same issues.

For the color scheme I tried to tie in an incorporate the same colors that's on the front of the magazine cover but, I also wanted it to be its own creative page layout for the double spread. Making these two different color schemes makes it pop and makes it also attractive to the eye and ready to read.

I think I would like to add some more graphics maybe around the border to correlate after I add the text so that way it won't clash too much but still be somewhat attractive.

Tylor as previously stated is a senior student athlete, so when I asked him for a quote, it wasn't a problem receiving one that correlated with the topic I already had set in stone.

Having Tylor's picture here also makes me feel as if, it's appropriate and diligent within the topic and it's relatable especially to male senior student athletes.

But with that being said, thanks for stopping by ! I know this has been a bit of a roller coaster but, I have confidence that we'll be able to successfully execute and perfect this in no time !

See you on the next blog !
