In Depth Table of Contents

Image
Hey There !  I'm back! So I’ve been in a bit of shambles when it comes to doing my in depth layouts, so this is my last one. So today we'll be talking about table of contents !  Table of Contents is a really important aspect when it comes to books, magazines, novels etc. because it keeps the reader not only focused with where they stopped at but it can also help identify what attracts the readers eye and help them choose which section they would like to pick.  I added the picture of my classmates because I feel as though it's a good picture to express diversity and I feel like we don't really see that these days. It's only right to incorporate everyone from different cultures and backgrounds to add a bit of unity.    I was a bit conflicted when I went in to create these table of contents mainly because, I didn't know if the color contrast would throw off the whole look or if it looked too plain and simple. I feel as though I want to maybe still play with...

Double Spread In Depth

Image
And we're back ! Here's my second analysis of another component of my magazine. So here we have the double spread layout. The double spread is usually used to execute the correct amount of spacing and a rough draft of what the pages of the magazine are supposed to look like. Even though I mentioned in the initial blog that I believed this was easy, I realize I have some flaws, that truthfully I'm not too embarrassed to bring up. So for one my first error was my page numbers ! I was so in love with the color diversity I forgot to add the page numbers in which I need to correct. I feel like I could add a little bit more diversity to this double layout but I'm proud of myself for the first time execution.  For the graphic (picture) I took this picture of a peer with my canon camera at one of his local football games. Tylor, who, like me, is a senior student athlete was my perfect example for this magazine so I just happened to sneak in on a Thursday afternoon game . I di...

Preliminary Task: In Depth Magazine Cover

Image
Hey there ! So if you were here before you know that, I created this amazing magazine cover ! Here today I want to start my breakdowns of each of the elements I've showed you all before and the structure and creating process of my magazine.  To begin with, I want to touch on the background photo "Senior Zone",  that you see appearing on a sign. This picture I took when I was in Atlanta on a business college tour trip. This picture definitely correlated with me because I felt as if Senior Year should be emphasized and this was the best way to implement it. I took this picture not even realizing it was using the deep shot technique. If you don't remember, I mentioned that deep shot focus is a technique in which everything in the picture is being focused, not just one subject throughout the picture.  I created the topics/headers to go within the magazine by searching up examples. As previously stated, I mentioned that this is my first time making something of this nat...

Photo Comp. Technique Part 2

Image
Hello! So today we're talking about our photo composition techniques again.  Today the techniques we'll be talking about are, deep focus, shallow focus, and focus pull.  Focus pull is a comp. technique is where the focus shifts one from subject to the next. So here I'm showing the focus being shifted from the water bottle to the background/dashboard of the car. Using the portrait option on my iPhone helped me a tremendous amount.  After focus pull, we have shallow focus. Shallow focus is the comp. technique where one subject is in focus while the rest is out of focus and blurred. For this I used my subject (classmate, Janaysa) to show where it only focused on her and blurred out the rest of the background behind her.  Lastly, we have deep focus ! Deep focus is a comp. technique in which each subject is in full focus. For this example I used my classmates at work ! Thanks for stopping by and learning about the second part of photo composition techniques ! Hope y...

Preliminary Task: Double Spread

Image
Hi and I'm back ! Today for our magazine my final task was to go ahead and make a double spread. In my opinion this was the easiest to do but my classmates seemed to think otherwise !   It only took about a few minutes to do a layout of it but I think it came out excellent.  I used a student athlete that I know and he was able to give me such a good quote for our double spread example. I took one of these pictures at his game with my canon camera ! Thanks for coming to help build my magazine ! Stay tuned, see you soon. Made in Canva

Preliminary Task: Table of Contents

Image
So hey there ! Today i’ve done my table of contents for my magazine ! Of course I used some elements from examples I’ve seen and I’m absolutely in love ! Here I have a few topics that I thought would’ve related to or with the tooic of being a senior athlete ! Often times in magazines they give us pictorial examples/ eye catchers to grab our attention and that’s what i did here !  It’s evident you see the diverse friend group on the bottom so you would want to see what everything is about ! Hope you liked my blog post, come back for the next one to see how this magazine elevates.  Made in Canva by me ;). See you next time !

Come along on my journey as we build the element(s) and analysis of creating our magazine.  Join another ride of building my magazine ! Thanks for stopping by :)

Mise En Scene

Image
Welcome inside my blog !  If this is your first time being here, welcome !  If not welcome my friend, I'm glad you returned.  Today we're not using our camera but we're using a sort of a technique dealing with a camera if that makes sense.  The technique or concept per say is called, "mise en scene", mise en scene is the setting or placing of a scene. The setting can be anything dealing with the elements such as, lightning, colors, makeup, props, costumes etc. Everything in the setting that makes it basically, a "setting". Mise en scene assists in making the audience becomes more engaged within the events that's taking place. For example, in this picture we see the subject is on the phone but taking in the setting you can understand that something important must be happening on the phone. The significance of his outfit makes a huge difference, it shows that he must be at work handling business, but if he was in pajamas or another outfit the mise e...
